Dion J. Moniz is a Partner at the Firm. He represents numerous businesses throughout Northwest Florida with issues involving civil or commercial litigation, business law, workers' compensation defense, defense of workers’ compensation penalties and/or stop work orders, insurance coverage disputes, real estate litigation, foreclosures and collections.
Mr. Moniz earned his Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law, Cum Laude. He earned his B.S. degree from Florida State University, Cum Laude. Mr. Moniz is admitted to practice in Florida, Alabama, the U.S. District Courts of the Northern District of Florida, and the Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama.
Mr. Moniz is active in the local bar and community. He currently serves as the Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors for the Panama City Rotary Club, and also serves as vice-chair and member of the Board of Directors for the Bay, Franklin, Gulf Healthy Start Coalition, Inc. He is a former Co-Chair of the 14th Judicial Circuit First Saturday Legal Clinic. He served for seven years as a student mentor at Rosenwald Middle School, is a graduate of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Bay Program, is the former Chair of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce Junior Leadership Bay Program, and currently volunteers as a Rotary Reader for the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida’s Rotary Read Aloud project. Mr. Moniz is a member of The Florida Bar, the Alabama Bar, the Bay County American Inn of Court, the Bay County Bar Association, the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.
Mr. Moniz has co-authored two articles on the changing law in worker’s compensation: “Worker’s Compensation Settlements, the Next Generation,” which appeared in the Florida Bar Journal, and a follow-up article: “Worker’s Compensation Settlements, the Evolution Continues.”
